Leadership & Administration

A better education starts at the top
Any teacher can attest that academic excellence starts at the top with administrators who are passionate in their pursuit of delivering a high quality education and cultivating a positive school culture. School administrators and directors in BASIS International Schools work diligently to ensure school morale and welfare for both students and teachers.

Students, teachers, staff, and parents all depend on the support of strong leadership. Students need to be in a supportive, yet academically challenging environment that will allow them to thrive and reach their full potential. Teachers and staff look to our administrators for resources and guidance. Parents seek a positive advocate for their children as they mature academically, emotionally, and socially.

Our school leaders establish a culture of not only high expectations, but also support for both students and teachers in a collaborative, professional environment.

A successful school begins at the top with excellent leadership. Our rapid growth is creating significant opportunities for those seeking to continue or begin their career in school administration.

What our employees are saying

"I started at BASIS International School Shenzhen in 2015 as a Grade 4 Learning Expert Teacher (LET) and World History Teacher. In 2019, I accepted the role of Vice Head of Middle School. I served as the Head of Primary School from 2020 to 2022, and since the fall of 2022, I have been the Head of Middle School.

The opportunity to be part of making decisions for the school motivated me to embrace a new role. This shift allowed me to move my influence and experiences beyond the classroom and look at how we do things across a division."

"At BASIS International & Bilingual Schools, you are encouraged to challenge yourself, and I am lucky to be part of a supportive team. With the team's support, guidance, and trust, I moved into the Vice Head of Division position in July 2022. The new role has been challenging yet immensely rewarding. Working with teachers as they explore, set, and meet targets is very fulfilling."

"Stepping into this new role has been a continuous learning experience, and I appreciate the chance to expand my expertise daily. My decision to shift into administration was motivated by the opportunity to contribute to the school's development on a broader scale. As a classroom teacher, my positive influence was confined to the students in my class; as an administrator I am able to collaborate with teachers and exponentially impact more people."
Madalina Ailincai, Vice Head of High School
