Our network of schools in China is rapidly growing. The location of each of our schools is unique, and there is truly something for every lifestyle. From urban, to suburban, to quiet resort community, there is a BASIS International School to fit your lifestyle and preferences.
Shenzhen In 2015, our campus in Shenzhen was the first BASIS International School to open in China. Opening with more than 400 students, it has grown to more than 1,000 students in PreK - 12th grade.

Guangzhou BASIS International School Guangzhou was the second BASIS International School in China and opened in 2017. The campus has grown to 1,200 students and is the first to offer a week-day boarding program.

Hangzhou BASIS International School Hangzhou opened in 2018 and offers courses from PreK - Grade 12. The purpose-built campus is capable of housing 1,000 students and celebrated their first graduating class in 2022.

Park Lane Harbour Overlooking the South China Sea's Xiaojing Bay, BASIS International School Park Lane Harbour opened in 2018 and offers grades 5 - 12. Park Lane Harbour is the second BASIS International School to offer week-day boarding.

Nanjing Opened in the fall of 2019, BASIS International School Nanjing serves students in grades PreK - 12, and has a capacity of 1,200 students in their campus located in Nanjing's University Town in Qixia District.

Shenzhen-Bilingual campus Our first bilingual school, BASIS Bilingual School Shenzhen, opened in September 2020 in the Futian District of Shenzhen. Initially opening with grades PreK - 5, it will grow until Pre-K through 12th grades are offered.

Chengdu Opened in the fall of 2022, BASIS International & Bilingual School Chengdu is our first campus to house both international and bilingual school programs, and will grow to a capacity of over 1,800 students.

Living in China Living in China is different from other parts of the world, but also has many similarities. There are IMAX movie theaters with current releases in English, Starbucks coffee, shopping malls, and other Western conveniences. Most cities offer efficient public transportation, as well as services similar to Uber or Lyft. Food options are plentiful and varied, from all varieties of Chinese food, to even Western restaurants and chains such as McDonald's for those needing a taste of home.

Convenience and ease of living in China is second to none. Anything you need, from food to home goods, can be ordered online and delivered to your door, usually even on the same day. China utilizes very little cash for payments--your smart phone and WeChat app are all you need. Similarly, apps to navigate the language difference are easy to use and make navigating langugage differences more manageable. No matter the language, though, a smile always goes a long way.

Many of our teachers have commented on the level of safety they feel when living in China. Family and community are emphasized. Education is greatly valued and teachers are highly respected. There are cultural differences and adjustments to be made when living in any foreign country, but life in China is similar to many other parts of the world and you will soon feel at home.
