Join the Revolution in
Middle/Secondary School Education
The BASIS Curriculum is among the most interesting, varied, and rigorous in the United States. We are now bringing this proven model to the world to raise the bar in international education. As a Subject Expert Teacher you have the freedom and flexibility to convey the content in a way that brings out your enthusiasm and excitement to capture the interest of students, and convince them of the wonder of your discipline.
You also have the unique opportunity to pursue new ideas, create new content, and contribute to a constantly evolving and growing repository of excellent, innovative syllabi and lesson plans which are accessible to all BASIS Curriculum teachers around the world.
As students transition from the primary years to their middle and secondary education, we focus on making the shift from concrete to abstract thinking. Middle school students in Grades 6-8 begin to focus on seeing knowledge as a tool, which will prepare them for the challenging college prep curriculum of the high school years. You have both the opportunity to shape and mold students’ transition to abstract thinking, and reap the benefit of engaging students at new intellectual levels.
New Teacher Training & Support
As a new BASIS International School teacher, you will participate in intensive training at the BASIS International Summer Institute. There you will learn more about the BASIS Curriculum Schools network model, our innovative BASIS Curriculum, and how BASIS International Schools inspire—and achieve—academic excellence. You will also develop relationships with other teachers, including many teaching the same subject as you, and become a part of a community of talented, curious, and interesting educators from around the world.
You will be partnered with a Subject Advisor in your subject to help you assimilate into the BASIS Curriculum. We also invite and encourage all BASIS International School teachers to collaborate with their peers and contribute to the evolution of the BASIS Curriculum through online sharing of best lesson plans and syllabi.

“I’ve never had a group of students that I’ve enjoyed so much, and these kids are not only smart and hard working, but they are funny and creative which I have not seen in my other previous schools.”

“I really like the teaching community here because it is both diverse and experienced. There are teachers here from across the world and all of them are people who really know their craft and who care about teaching and are easy to get along with.”
